Two items: an ALS signed “John G. Whittier,” four pages on two adjoining sheets, 4.75 x 7.75, in part: “I was glad to hear from thee, but have not been able to say so before, for I am overrun and overwhelmed with letters, & manuscripts, and all sorts of requests from everybody I don’t know…I shall not be in Boston much this winter. I shall be in Amesbury next month”; and an ink signature, “With thanks, my friend, John G. Whittier, Danvers, Dec. 20, 1888,” on an off-white 4.265 x 7 sheet. In overall very good to fine condition, with light edge toning and splits along folds. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
