Letter to Seth Sweetser, in part: “Your despatches dated 29th Sept…30th Sept—23rd Oct & two of the 15th Nov. 1846, without number, have been received. Your draft for $100…has been paid & that for $217.81 in favor of M. A. de Susanago will be honored when presented. A copy of your despatch dated 29th Sept. on the subject of John C. Neillson’s bequest, was sent to Mr. Geo.: A. Neason, at New York, on the 5th inst; & on the following day a letter was received from him making an explanation which he thinks is called for in justice to you.” Crisply signed at the conclusion by Buchanan.
