LS signed "Geo. Cruikshank," two pages on two adjoining sheets, 4.5 x 7.25, January 4, 1876. Letter to Messrs. J. & J. Cook. In part: "Owing to my overwhelming engagements...it will be impossible for me to undertake to do any Illustrations for your Pamphlet of 'Tenant Right in Tipperary,' which I regret it is a subject of very great interest." Cruikshank adds a short postscript in his own hand, "Who sends a thousand apologies for neglecting to send this note at the time it was written." In fine condition. Accompanied by an unsigned leatherbound copy of Jack Sheppard by William Ainsworth illustrated by Cruikshank.
