Calvin Coolidge

Partly-printed DS as president, one page both sides, 9.5 x 14, December 13, 1923. President Coolidge grants a respite to George S. Ridnor, who was convicted of extortion in New Jersey and sentenced to a three-year prison term. In part: “The sentence in this case should not be executed until an application for pardon…has been investigated and considered…Now, therefore, be it known, that I, Calvin Coolidge…grant unto the said George S. Ridnor a respite until January twelfth, 1924.” Signed at the conclusion by Coolidge and countersigned by Attorney General Harry M. Daugherty. The red seal affixed to the lower left remains fully intact. In fine condition, with expected document wear. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
