The automotive pioneer responds to a questionnaire

German engineer and founder of Mercedes-Benz (1844–1929) who, after graduating from the University of Karlsruhe at the age of 19, went on to develop one of the first practical internal combustion engines, revolutionizing the history of the automobile. Desirable TLS in German, signed “Dr. C. Benz, Ladenburg, 26th July 1925,” one page, 5.5 x 8.75, Ernst Heimeran letterhead, stamp-dated July 20, 1925. Letter in questionnaire form directed to Benz. The first inquiry (translated): “Is there a representation of your own personal values in any work of art?” Benz adds a handwritten response, (translated): “Not that I know of.” In fine condition, with filing holes to left edge. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
