Sam Adams calls upon the citizenry “to give in their votes for one Representative...to represent them in the Congress of the United States of America”

Partly-printed DS, one page, 9.5 x 15, December 17, 1794. As governor of Massachusetts, Adams orders the selectmen of Flintstown, Massachusetts “to cause the freeholders and other inhabitants duly qualified to vote for representatives for the General Court of this Commonwealth…to assemble…to give in their votes for one Representative, that is an inhabitant of the said District, to represent them in the Congress of the United States of America.” Signed in the upper left below the seal by Governor Adams and countersigned twice by John Avery as secretary. Beautifully mounted, matted, and framed to an overall size of 17 x 23. In very good condition, with repaired separations and small holes at intersecting folds, some scattered soiling and staining, and chipping to edges. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
