In full: “It being impossible for me to visit England this year—I thank with all my heart—my English friends for their kind wish to see me—and I am with gratitude.” Affixed to a same-size sheet. In fine condition, with horizontal and vertical folds (horizontal fold touching the tips of two letters of the signature) and slight wrinkling and soiling. Accompanied by an unsigned carte-de-visite of Garibaldi, two similar size photos showing Garibaldi’s residence and friends, and a large artistic depiction of the revered Italian patriot.
