Letter to Lord Viscount Falkland. In part: “We have understood that Thomas Mall, esquire, hath of late married a wide there, by whom there are many debts due unto him from several persons, the recovery whereof, by a legal and ordinary course of proceeding, would prove tedious and expensive…We are pleased, and do hereby authorize and require that you call before you such as are so indebted to him, and take such as course as they may answer the debts that are justly due unto him, with as little possible trouble, charge, and loss of time as may be.” Retains the address panel on the second adjoining sheet. Affixed to a slightly larger scrapbook page. In very good condition, with intersecting folds and overall foxing and soiling. The full text of this document can be found in the 1863 book Calendar of the Patent and Close Rolls of Chancery in Ireland, of the Reign of Charles the First.
