ALS signed “Lister,” one page, 4.5 x 7, black-bordered letterhead, April 10, 1897. Letter to F. Mockler, in full: “I regret that, as I am leaving London this afternoon for Easter, I cannot have the pleasure of seeing you on Monday.” In fine condition, with light central vertical and horizontal folds (touching the tip of the first letter of the signature) and trivial soiling. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Lister’s own hand, as well as an unsigned carte-de-visite portrait removed from its original backing and affixed to a German biography sheet.
