John Barbirolli

British conductor of the Halle Orchestra (1899–1970) who previously served as Arturo Toscanini's successor as music director of the New York Philharmonic. Exceptionally clear matte-finish 6.25 x 8.5 photo of Barbirolli, affixed along the top edge to a slightly larger mount, signed and inscribed in black fountain pen, “To my friend Franz Samohyl, in remembrance of the happiest music we have made together, John Barbirolli, Vienna, 1947.” In fine condition, with trivial soiling to lower right edge. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
