Pioneering motion picture executive (1879–1952) who founded the Fox Film Corporation in 1915. TLS signed “Wm. Fox,” one page, 8.5 x 11, personal letterhead, January 29, 1916. Letter to H. E. Hanson, in part: “After careful consideration we have decided to accord you, as a contract customer of the Fox Film Corporation, the opportunity of repeating those features which you have already played under contract and which you may desire to play again on open, or spot, bookings…We do not expect you to repeat every feature that is released on our program. We do expect you, however, in your own interest, to profit by the opportunity that is now given you to bring back in your theatre, at a reduced price, those features which you believe can be profitably repeated…After considering the matter carefully, however, both from your standpoint and our own, we have reached the conclusion that it would be fair and equitable to charge only three-quarters of the contract price per day for repeat bookings.” In fine condition, with intersecting folds (one vertical fold passing through a single letter of the signature), and trivial soiling.
