British playwright, novelist, and poet (1871–1949). ALS signed “Peggy Webling,” two pages on two adjoining sheets, 4.5 x 7, January 29, 1948. In part: “I shall be so very pleased if you will come to supper with me next Monday—do!” In fine condition. Webling’s 1927 stage adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein is notable for naming the creature ‘Frankenstein’ after its creator and was the inspiration of the classic 1931 film directed by James Whale.
