Ruger, in part: “Mr. Henry Kennerly belongs to the kindly family of that name whose hospitality to officers…now known and appreciated…is an applicant for the trader’s position at the new post to be established on the Milliken…I have been requested to give him a letter of recommendation. Should…the council designate Mr. Kennerly for the place in question, I know many good people whose hearts would be gladdened.” Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in his own hand.
