LS signed “Benj. F. Butler, Maj. Genl. U.A.,” one page, 6.75 x 8, Head Quarters 18th Army Corps letterhead, January 10, 1864. Letter to Jefferson Coolidge, in full: “Upon my return from Washington I get your letter directed to Hon. George W. Randolph, Richmond, Va. It shall go up by first Flag of Truce, and I trust you will be able to get the information which you seek.” Uniformly trimmed edges, light soiling, show-through from mounting remnants on reverse, and an expected mailing fold passing through the top of the signature, otherwise fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
