Emil Cioran

Romanian philosopher and essayist (1911–1995) who was awarded the prestigious Rivarol Prize in 1950 for his first French book, A Short History of Decay. TLS in French, signed “E. M. Cioran,” one page, 8.25 x 10.5, May 12, 1960. Untranslated letter to publisher Max Niedermayer, the founder of the Limes-Verlag, regarding a German edition of his work ‘The Temptation of Existence,’ and some translations done by Friedhelm Kemp. In fine condition, with central horizontal and vertical folds and a pair of punch holes to left edge. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
