Partial free frank, measuring 5.5 x 7.75 unfolded, with center panel measuring 5.5 x 3, addressed in another hand to “H. T. Gaylor, Esq., Whitehall, N. Y.,” and franked in the upper left, “J. A. Garfield.” The panel is postmarked July 14, and the lower portion retains part of the original wax seal. Attractively matted and framed with a carte-de-visite portrait of Garfield to an overall size of 11.5 x 19.75. Two noticeable vertical folds (one vertical fold passing through a single letter of the signature), light scattered creases, and a few stray marks, otherwise fine condition.
