Chinese political and military leader (1897–1965) who served as the Republic of China’s vice president from 1954 to 1965; a notable commander during the Second Sino-Japanese War and the Chinese Civil War. Vintage satin-finish 8.25 x 9.75 photo, boldly signed in Chinese on the mount in black ink. In fine condition, with some minor surface creases to borders, rubbing above (but not approaching) the bold signature, and neatly trimmed edges. Accompanied by a 1954 onionskin “The Executive Yuan” letter of transmittal. An exemplary photo mailed from his office with desirable forwarding letter; he left his post shortly after on June 7, 1954.
