AQS on an off-white 4.75 x 7.5 sheet, signed at the conclusion in black ink, “Horace Greeley, Saginaw, Mich., Dec. 4, 1866.” Greeley pens an idealistic abolitionist and patriotic quote. In full: “The real triumph of the American Republic over Secession and Disunion is to be consecrated, not by confiscation or execution but by the establishment of Liberty and Equal Rights, for the highest and the humblest, from the St. John to the Rio Grande, from the Chesapeake to Puget’s Sound.” Light scattered staining, a chip to the bottom edges, and two small holes to upper corners, otherwise fine condition. Accompanied by an unsigned photo. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
