Partly-printed DS, signed “Victoria,” one page, 13.5 x 9.5, March 17, 1870. Victoria appoints George Douglas a “Quartermaster on the Staff of Our Army.” Signed in the upper left corner by the queen and countersigned by Secretary of State for War Edward Cardwell. Double-matted and framed with a portrait of Victoria to an overall size of 25 x 15.25. Vertical folds and some scattered light toning, otherwise fine condition. The blue paper seal shows uniform light fading and some spotting, and the blue revenue stamp is crisp and bright. Oversized. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
