TLS signed “RN,” one page, 7.25 x 10.25, personal letterhead, February 25, 1988. Letter to conservative columnist Victor Lasky which accompanied page proofs of Nixon’s book, 1999: Victory Without War. In part: “Some of our mutual friends will consider it to be too tough on the Soviets, but I thought it was essential to provide an antidote for the wave of euphoria that seems to have engulfed the West since the Washington summit.” After his signature, Nixon adds a brief handwritten postscript which reads: “I was sorry to hear that you lost your gallant battle against your critics.” In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
