The Burial of the Dead. April is the cruelest month, breeding / Lilacs out the dead land, mixing / Memory and desire, stirring / Dull roots with spring rain.” Eliot also added an “e” to correct the misspelt “crullest.” In fine condition, with a light thumbprint to the right border.
