Revolutionary Soviet Russian film director and film theorist (1898–1948) noted in particular for his silent films Strike, Battleship Potemkin, and October, as well as historical epics Alexander Nevsky and Ivan the Terrible. ANS in German, one page, 5.75 x 4.75, no date. Brief note to costume designer, Lidia Naumova. In full (translated): “To Lidia Ivanovna Naumov from S. M. Eisenstein (Unfortunately point 2 wholly applies for the collars as well).” Matted and framed with an image of Eisenstein to an overall size of 11.25 x 16.25. In fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
