Early letter on presidential mourning stationery

TLS as president, one page, 7.25 x 9, black-bordered Executive Mansion letterhead, October 9, 1901. Brief letter to Hammond Lamont at The Evening Post. In full: “I thank you sincerely for those clippings. You are doing a service in sending them. It was a genuine pleasure to meet you the other day.” Horizontal fold through small portion of last name and a slightly fuzzy appearance to text, otherwise fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
