Land grant issued to Franz Germand for a quarter lot of land under “'An act providing for the sale of the Lands of the United States in the Territory north-west of the Ohio, and above the mouth of the Kentucky River.'” Signed at the conclusion by Madison and countersigned by Josiah Meigs as commissioner of the General Land Office. Framed to an overall size of 16 x 13. In very good condition, with intersecting folds, and staining to horizontal edges, lightly affecting beginning of Madison’s signature.
