A four-language ship’s papers issued to Joseph Saunders “master or commander of the Brig called Maria…lying at present in the port of Boston bound for Labrador & Mediterranean and laden with Ballast & Sea Stores.” Nicely signed by Jefferson and Madison. Document has been professionally silked and framed to an overall size of 22 x 18. Intersecting folds, uniform moderate toning, a few small holes and edge tears, and some light haloing to Madison’s signature, otherwise very good condition.
