Description

To his favorite Paramount Studios barber: “I’ve been successful in finding one here who follows your fine pattern so I don’t look like a Vietnik”

Draft ALS signed “Ron,” one page, lightly-lined, 8 x 10, secretarially notated June 19, 1967. Letter to “Vince,” a barber at Paramount Studios. In part: “You are not forsaken—the timing on my occasional drop in’s has been off as far as hair cuts is concerned. I’ve been successful in finding one here who follows your fine pattern so I don’t look like a Vietnik. I didn’t know what you meant about the board so did some checking…there is a bill in the legislature aimed at making the board similar to some 33 others…I don’t have any idea of whether it will go through or not. Unfortunately it’s a legislative matter & there isn’t much I can do about it.” In fine condition. Having just taken office as governor of California in January 1967, this is a great letter with both political content and a humorous jab at Vietnam war protesters. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
