Character actor (1869–1956) best known for his role as Uncle Henry in The Wizard of Oz. Vintage glossy 8 x 10 double-weight Universal publicity photo of Grapewin as he appeared in Kiss Before the Mirror, signed and inscribed in white ink to legendary Universal make-up artist Jack Pierce, “Dear Jack, You do the impossible and I thank you. Charley Grapewin.” Mounting remnants to corners and scattered rubbing to finish, otherwise fine condition. Pierce did the make-up for the 1933 film and the photo comes directly from the Jack Pierce scrapbook. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
