Description

Franklin D. Roosevelt

TLS, one page, 6.5 x 9, Assistant Secretary of the Navy letterhead, June 18, 1915. Letter to Dr. J. D. Harrigan. In full: “I enclose a list of tentative appointments in the fourth-class offices of Franklin County, to be made within a short time. The Post Office Department has asked me for a recommendation in the above cases and I am writing to ask if, in your judgment, the appointments should go through as suggested. The Department is very anxious to get all these places cleaned up by the first of July and I shall appreciate it if you will let me hear from you within the next few days.” Double-matted and framed with a portrait of Roosevelt to an overall size of 21 x 15. In very good condition, with central horizontal and vertical folds, one through a single letter of signature, signature fairly faded but still legible, and a uniform shade of light toning. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
