In part: “I will be unable to enlighten you as to whether or not there is any relation with your family. My father and his people came from Ohio in the early days of Texas pioneering, and I have never been able to trace the family tree too far, so I can’t give you any further information. Although the name is unusual, I haven’t found anyone who has been able to establish any relation with my family and theirs. However, I think there is nothing wrong in having relatives, and would like to know about it.” Affixed to a same-size scrapbook page.
