Description

DeNiro talks boxing as a young boy—nearly 25 years before Raging Bull

Essay in pencil titled ‘Injustice,’ one lined sheet, 8.5 x 11, October 26, 1956. In part: “Well, injustice means that, say if a man was being tried for a crime he did and the judge wasn’t fair, and he sentenced him to death instead of say 15 to 20 years…I remember a fighter from Syracuse was fighting a man from New York…and the fighter from Syracuse was beating the other fighter…When the fight was over the judges said that the fighter from New York has won, but he hadn’t but nobody could do anything because what the judges said went.” DeNiro’s writing teacher has made a few spelling and grammar corrections to the text. In fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
