Description

Lennon’s ‘Lost Weekend’–inspired album complete with three original sketches, presented to a friend and restauranteur

Walls and Bridges album signed and inscribed on the front cover in blue ballpoint, “To Richard and Cynn ‘Home’ with love and tee shirts from yer old pal John 74,” adding a self-portrait caricature under his signature, as well as small sketches of an elephant and a dog. Lennon has also added the proper genitalia to one of the soccer players on the album cover. In very good condition, with separated top edge, scattered edge wear and creases, and some dampstaining along top edge. The record is included. Richard and his first wife, Cynthia Ross, were the owners of Manhattan's Home restaurant and bar which was a regular haunt for Lennon. The ex-Beatle and Richard Ross had an ongoing joke regarding elephants, as well as a close friendship, explaining the anatomical addition to the cover. Pre-certified Roger Epperson/REAL and RR Auction COA.
