Description

“One cannot be happy about a war mission that caused much loss of life and property”

Glossy 8 x 10 photo of the Hiroshima mushroom cloud, signed in blue felt tip, “One cannot be happy about a war mission that caused much loss of life and property. But we realize from historical records that the two atomic bombings quickly ended a war that would otherwise have involved a costly invasion over a much longer time. I did at the time agree with Truman’s decision and, with much more historical knowledge, I certainly agree today. Morris Jeppson, Weapon Test Officer, Enola Gay Mission, 6 Aug 1945.” In very fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
