Headquarters, Department of the Missouri mailing envelope, 5.75 x 3.25, addressed in Custer’s hand to his wife (and incorporating his signature), “Mrs. General G. A. Custer, Fort Leavenworth, Kans.” Envelope bears a three-cent postage stamp and two notations that are not in his hand, dated December 19 and 21, 1868. In very good to fine condition, with a rough left edge from opening, and some scattered light edge creasing and toning, heaviest to right edge.
