Description

Expressing his hopes for children shaping the future: “There is always a need to break down barriers between people…This will help to insure world peace and encourage us to share our wealth and freedom with others”

A three-page questionnaire sent to Carter in 1987 by Kids World, to be published by Macmillan Publishing. The form contains five questions, with Carter answering only one, which asked him what changes could be made to make the world a better place. Carter writes for his response: “There is always a need to break down barriers between people and to make new friends, even with those who are quite different from us. Sometimes they live nearby & sometimes in foreign countries. This will help to insure world peace and encourage us to share our wealth and freedom with others. In doing so, our own lives will be more exciting, adventurous, and happier.” Carter has also signed the last page, “J. Carter, 2/3/87.” In fine condition, with a single staple hole to top edge and some light toning from previous display. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, as well as a photocopy of Carter’s signed approval for reproduction, and a photocopy of a letter to a member of Macmillan publishing. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
