His son, Mr. Masayoshi Oyabe, went to the United States at the age of twenty…Mr. Sakamoto died some time after the end of the War…Thank you very much for your kind words about myself and our achievements here in Japan.” In fine condition, with a crease to the upper left corner. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope. The Oyabe referred to in the letter is Jenichiro Oyabe, author of the pioneering work of Asian-American literature, A Japanese Robinson Crusoe; he returned to Japan shortly after publishing the book in 1898.
