Influential black writer, educator, and civil rights activist (1868–1963) best known as the co-founder of the NAACP and author of The Souls of Black Folk. TLS, one page, 5.5 x 8.5, The Crisis letterhead, October 25, 1926. Letter to an admirer. In full: “On my return from Europe I find your letter of October 17th.
