Looking forward to a poker game, so he can bluff with “a pair of fives”

TLS signed “Harry,” one page, 8 x 10.5, US Senate letterhead, June 18, 1936. Letter to John W. Snyder. In full: “I’ll certainly be pleased to see Colonel Mueller when he comes to Washington. If there is anything I can do to make his visit pleasant, I’ll be glad to do it.” In a handwritten postscript, he adds: “Just write Ed McKim to come to Ft. Riley and bring Harry Vaughn [sic] so I can try a pair of fives.” In fine condition, with expected filing holes to top. Truman and Vaughan were Colonels at reserve officers summer camp at Fort Riley, Kansas, in the 1920s and 1930s. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
