Partly-printed vellum DS as president, one page, 12 x 16.5, September 5, 1812. President Madison grants “Thomas Moore (A Captain for three years) to the United States, in the Virginia Line on Continental Establishment…a certain Tract of land containing Thirty acres situate between the Little Miami and Sciota rivers, north west of the river Ohio.” Crisply signed at the conclusion by Madison and countersigned by Edward Tiffin. Paper seal affixed to lower left remains partially intact. Tightly rolled with paper loss to edges of intersecting folds, otherwise very good condition with a clean overall appearance.
