Johnson,” one page, 8.5 x 11, American League letterhead, May 16, 1923. Letter to Yankees business manager Ed Barrow. In full: “The New York Club must place at once a heavy padding against the grandstand and in the rear of the catcher. I am surprised this has not been attended to. Mr. Evans called my attention to the matter yesterday. Will you kindly see that this is done at once, and before the return of the club.” In very good condition, with toning to borders, a rusty paperclip mark and impression to the upper left, and an office notation through the text.
