Signed book: The Walter Hagen Story. First edition, first printing. NY: Simon & Schuster, 1956. Hardcover with dust jacket, 6.25 x 9.25, 342 pages. Signed and inscribed on the first free end page in blue ballpoint, “To a great guy, Bob Finkel, Golfingly, Walter Hagen, 1956.” Autographic condition: fine. Book condition: VG/VG-. Blue cloth-covered spine and red paper-covered boards; rubbing to exterior; small bumps at corners; slight discoloration to spine and textblock edges; hinge near front starting, but binding still strong. Dust jacket has chips/tears and creases along edges; moderate soiling and yellowing; and a slightly darkened spine. Hagen, considered by some the greatest golfer of all-time, won 75 titles and dominated the golfing world from 1914-1936, bringing princely charm, ready wit and sartorial elegance to golf.
