Reagan habitually penned drafts of letters for his secretary to then type on his behalf. Although many of these drafts had a line drawn through them to indicate they had been typed, this attractive example successfully avoided such a fate. As governor, Reagan supported some gun control legislation, signing the Mulford Act into law, which prohibited the public carrying of loaded firearms, and increased the waiting period for firearm purchases.
