Transmittal letter to “the Senate and House of Representatives.” In full: “I transmit herewith a report from the Secretary of War in relation to an error in a communication of Captain Meigs.” Double cloth matted and framed with a portrait of Pierce and a small name plaque, to an overall size of 21 x 17. In fine condition with some light pencil remnants to top edge of letter. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
