Co-founder of blues-rock band Canned Heat (1943–1981), nicknamed ‘Bear’ because of his large size; he passed away fairly young, at the age of 38, after a heart attack. Ballpoint signature, “Sally, Happy New Year, Bob Hite, ‘Bear,’” on the reverse of an off-white 3.5 x 2 Johnny Franklin business card bearing images of the Monkees. Stray ink mark to the bottom edge and surface impressions from ink notation on reverse, otherwise fine condition. Accompanied by an original unsigned 2.5 x 3.5 candid photo of Hite.
