In full: “Since I have just returned from Europe, I have been delayed in telling you how much I appreciate all of your efforts during the past months of the campaign. We would never have been successful against the Republican sweep, I am sure, if it had not been for the untiring efforts at Headquarters of the ‘Volunteers.’ I am especially grateful to you for your help, and I am looking forward to having the opportunity to thank you personally. I hope you will let me know if there is anything I can do.” In a nine-word handwritten postscript, Kennedy adds “Many many thanks Mrs. Bernstein for all your help.” Intersecting folds, with two folds lightly passing through Kennedy’s signature and a few wrinkles, otherwise fine condition. On November 4, 1952, Republican presidential nominee Dwight D. Eisenhower swept New England’s 40 electoral votes, winning Massachusetts. In the race for US Senate, three-term Congressman John F.
