John Fulton

Special effects artist (1902–1965) remembered for his innovative trick photography techniques and winner of two Acadamy Award wins for Best Special Effects. His work included Universal’s horror films—Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, and The Invisible Man, among others—and Hitchcock thrillers, notably Rear Window and Vertigo. TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, Universal Pictures letterhead, November 3, 1944. Letter to Marvin Ezzell of Goldwin [sic] Studio. In full: “Attached herewith please find the necessary negative order to Technicolor Laboratory, covering the last ten scenes on the Production, ‘The Wonder Man.’” In fine condition, with staple holes in upper left corner, two punch holes to top, and a rusty paperclip impression to top. Fulton won his first Oscar for his work on The Wonder Man. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
