Vintage leatherbound hardcover autograph album, 5.25 x 7, signed inside in ink by 86 people, many on affixed clips slips or photographs. Signers include: “R. Scott 5.5.10,” on a light gray slip; fountain pen signature “Winston S. Churchill,” with an AQS from Ernest Shackleton, which reads, “We have seen God in his splendors. Heard the text that Nature renders,” signed above the quote, “Ernest H. Shackleton.” Remainder of the signatures are from soccer and rugby players, church officials, and others. Signers include: Anna Pavlova (condition poor), B. C. Hucks, Austen Chamberlain, Christabel Pankhurst and Emmeline Pankhurst. Plus a number of signed postcard photographs of religious leader, including William Booth (excellent signed postcard photo), Cosmo Lang (Archbishop of Canterbury 1928 - 1942), Bernard Vaughan, Silvester Horne, Herbert Edward Ryle (Dean of Winchester), George Campbell Morgan, Arthur Winnington-Ingram (Bishop of London) and Alexander Maclaren. The books also contains signed pieces by footballers Jesse Pennington, Robert Crompton, Billy Meredith, Harry Hampton, Charlie Roberts, Charles Buchan, John Mordue, Harold Fleming, Bert Freeman, Jock Simpson, William Wedlock and Steve Bloomer. Plus other signatures include Richard Haldane, Arthur Balfour, H.H. Asquith, David Lloyd George, Suffragette Mary Gawthorpe (signed image) and others.Both the Scott and Churchill/Shackleton pages have affixed news clippings and photos and captions.
