Description

The Georgia Peach revels in his 1911 MVP season “Hit 420, stole 96 bases…but the 17 inning game in Sept. 1907 vs. Athletics I believe stands out”

Vintage fountain pen signature, “In baseball 25 years, I consider my best season 1911. Hit 420, stole 96 bases. Had many thrilling experiences but the 17 inning game in Sept. 1907 vs. Athletics I believe stands out. Ty Cobb,” on an off-white 5 x 3 album page. Cloth matted and framed, with a glossy image of the iconic photo of Cobb sliding hard into third base, to an overall size of 14.5 x 16. In fine condition, with punch holes to right edge and unobtrusive mounting remnants to two edges. Cobb edged out his good friend ‘Shoeless’ Joe Jackson for the batting crown in 1911, as well as being tops in hits, runs scored, RBI, stolen bases, doubles, triples, and slugging percentage, winning his only MVP award. Pre-certified Steve Grad/PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
