Scarce and large Burke portrait of ‘The Beast’ as a member of the Red Sox

Baseball Hall of Famer (1907–1967) who became the second major league player to hit 500 career home runs after Babe Ruth. Vintage matte-finish 8 x 10 George Burke photo of Foxx in his Red Sox uniform, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To Andy Frain, my very best, ‘Jimmie’ Foxx.” Scattered surface marks and foxing, crayon-colored edges, missing lower left corner tip, mounting remnants to reverse, a few edge tears and a few surface dings, otherwise very good condition. Signed photos of this size are quite uncommon. Pre-certified Steve Grad/PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
