Description

Uncommon signed portrait of the Red Sox controversial GM

Hall of Famer (1887–1951) and the only American League player to steal six bases in a single game, a feat he accomplished twice in a span of less than two weeks. Vintage glossy 8.75 x 6.5 photo of Collins sitting behind his desk as an executive for the Red Sox, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To ‘Tim’ with best wishes, Eddie Collins.” Diagonal creasing to lower right corner affecting signature, a bit of irregular ink adhesion to the light, but legible signature, other areas of creasing, and trimmed edges, otherwise very good condition. Collins is quite scarce in signed photos. Pre-certified Steve Grad/PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
