Feb 1865.” Cancellation cut above signature, several vertical creases, a couple lightly passing through signature, blue pencil cancellation, light toning and wrinkling, and another bank stamp to reverse, otherwise very good condition. In 1864, Arthur and Thomas Murphy, a hatter who sold goods to the Union Army, raised funds for Lincoln’s reelection from Republicans in New York and attended Abraham Lincoln’s inauguration on March 4, 1865, a month after this check was signed.
